Catching Up

Ok - well it's been a week since my last post. Granted I HAVE been very busy but the main reason is that our internet has been down continually all week, as well as, our home phone. Very frustrating. Even as I am trying to post this, I have already been cut off 3 times and we have cable! Ugh!! Anyway, the cable guy is out today to fix it…on to what's been happening...

Another Birthday Bonanza
This two week period is worse than August as everyone is family. Here’s whose turning older – Vincent 9/22, Me 9/28, Tiff 10/4, Savy 10/5, and Robert 10/11. Talk about crazy! Our poor toddlers, having to attend so many birthdays and not get to open presents. It’s kiddy torture. Vincent’s party was so cute. The theme was yellow and monster trucks – good job Kris on the cake.

Here’s the newest Schmidt – Hudson. Isn’t he adorable? I love the duckies.

Prayer Request
My dad just got word from his doctor – they want to do a biopsy on his prostate. This doesn’t sound good, but let’s just pray for healing.

Job Update
Well, no go on any jobs for me. Talk about depressing. I am going to apply to the City for a project coordinator position and see if I can at least be gainfully employed. Robert’s day job looks to be ending very soon and we will need something in place when that goes away. Plus, he can’t keep working 2 jobs – we didn’t want it to be this long.

Too Cute
My girlfriend Rachel and her 6 ½ month old son Bobby came over yesterday to visit. It was so nice to sit and talk with a girlfriend. We’ve been friends for 21 years can you believe it? I can’t. Anyway, her little boy is just the cutest smartest baby I’ve seen. He has 2 teeth, he sits up, army crawls and rolls over quicker than a blink. I only gush cuz my kids couldn’t do that – Ace had too big a head and would topple over and Champ was just too big too fast – he still can’t walk a straight line and he’s soon to be 2. Bobby’s just so cute and doesn’t look a thing like momma – sorry Rach! Better luck with the next one. I want a girl!!! (Pics to be added later)

Also, too cute is my “honorary” third child Brady. He had a Mohawk this day can you see it?

Quandry
Ok – we live with my folks. During the summer my mom asked that on top of rent we pay an extra $100 for her ‘watching’ the kids, plus pay every other month’s SDGE bill. I get the utility and don’t mind paying it. However, I’ve been home since June and other than interviews – I’ve been watching my children. She works 2 days a week and my father has side jobs 3 out of 5 days. So, I’m a bit irritated.

I have been really stressed at being a fulltime mom without my husband around because he’s working 2 jobs to provide for us, and I would really love a day away from my kids. I know that I am not cut out to be an at home mom for prolonged periods of time – that’s why I pursued my Master’s so I could work and be home for holidays and summer. If that’s a bad thing, than I am sorry. I love my kids and would not trade them. The imperfection lies within me that I truly need to work to feel fulfilled.

So, I made mention of needing a day off and my mother jumped on it and said if anyone needs a day off it’s me. WHAT??? EXCUSE ME!! Where am I every day of the week? What have I been doing the last 4 months? Am I invisible? I have potty trained my son (except for #2), I make all their meals, put them down for naps and put them to bed every night. My mother goes to her room by 6p, they have church on Wed and Thurs night and usually will go out another night. She changed a poopy diaper on Saturday last week and was ticked at having to “work” on her day off. I was down napping with Champ. I told her she could have come to me & I would have taken care of it. I am so sick of her attitude. My husband asked if we could not pay her the $100 as money is now tighter than ever with the extra utility bill we are paying and me not working. I said I don't know. She has watched our children for 3 yrs and we have not had to pay her before so I feel like I would have owed her for then anyway, but I hate that she considers herself as 'working' when I am here watching my children. Ok, I am now off my soap box. Thanks for listening.

Great pics. Our little Hudson is a doll isn't he? Heck...all of our kids are gorgeous. What can we say?
I'm sure you will find a job soon and you can move out asap. I'm sure you're all just feeling cramped and ready to move on. Soon...soon...you'll have your own place and can settle into a routine that is YOURS and not HERS.
